Our School

Werrington Primary SchoolWerrington is a 'village' on the edge of Werrington township, dating back to Norman times and is within the City of Peterborough. The school is situated in the centre of the village and is surrounded for the most part by private housing. To the north is the new Werrington township.

Building

The Primary School is comprised of two parts, which were formerly the Infant and Junior Schools. The Junior School was built in 1961 and the Infant School in 1966. The school has fourteen well-lit and spacious classrooms, the majority of which look out over the school fields. The Key Stage 2 department has an enclosed courtyard, whilst the Key Stage 1 department has the benefit of a large conservatory.

Inside and Outside the Buildings

There are two large halls, which are well equipped for drama, physical education, sensory curcuits and music. The school fields are spacious, there is a learner swimming pool with changing rooms and showers. Within the school grounds, there is an established conservation area, pond and nature trail. The school has good reference library facilities,  fully equiped computer suites, Interactive white boards in every class, and a modern fitted kitchen which is used by the children. Variety at playtimes is created through the use of different areas of play, the trim trail, different equipment and organised games as appropriate. The playgrounds have quiet shaded areas and during the summer term some lessons are delivered outside.
