Werrington Primary School
The DfE have made available £8000 lump sum per school and £15 per pupil funding to promote and develop the teaching of primary PE and increase opportunities for inter school sport and competition.
Funding has changed from 2017-18 with an increase to £16,000 plus £10 per pupil.
Impact of our use of the Sport Premium:
- Higher Participation levels in inter and intra school sport.
- Pupil’s enjoyment of sporting competition.
- Improved physical gains.
- Access to improved resources and higher level coaching.
- Staff confidence and expertise has increased.
- Positive feedback from parents regarding intra school sport.
Following a staff training analysis conducted in school the following plan was formulated. The key principles are that we aim to increase the quality of teaching and pedagogy with the teaching staff, increase the inter school sporting competition as well as intra school competition, increase the range and diversity of sports being offered as well as draw on the expertise locally from within the cluster as well as wider city/county. The funding that has been agreed by the Governor Resources Committee is as follows:

Our current plans enable us to achieve the expectations identified by OFSTED in Inspecting Primary School PE and school sport: new funding.
